ABOUT THE SHOW AND HOST The North Bay Junior 'A' Trappers Tradition and heritage is back in North Bay hockey. After over 45 years from the very first days the Trappers laced up to hit the ice at Memorial Gardens, the team has been formed again and are stronger than ever. After the depart of the Skyhawks in 2008, North Bay has reunited with the recognized “Trapper” name in not only in the Junior 'A' league, but it also trickles right down to the timbits youngsters who are just beginning to learn the tricks of the trade. The hockey world in North Bay gives players of all ages a chance to become a Trapper and remain a Trapper while they climb the levels and leagues in this sport. As for the Junior 'A' Trappers this season, Coach Ian Swalucynski (Coach of the year 2008/2009) leads the team of 17 – 20 year olds anticipating another year of victory pushing the true definition of fast-paced physical hockey. With the increasingly growing fan base, the Trappers have taken full advantage of the energy delivered by the excitement of the crowd and have translated it onto ice at every home game. The team consists of many All-Stars, literally. Seven players of the Junior 'A' Team have been selected to play in the NOJHL All-Star team which is the most players recruited from one single team in the whole division. Also, selected players have been recognized by other top tier leagues in Ontario, Canada and even the world. North Bay continues to deliver and cultivate a team and players that carries pride, emotion and drive both on and off the ice. The Trappers stay highly involved in the city with community events, attending school programs and taking the time to meet the fans. For the team, it is just as important to demonstrate leadership and be a role model off the ice as it is on the ice during a game.
