The Business Centre. is pleased to introduce Business Central; an interactive website that will provide students, educators, and employers with a multitude of small business and employment resources. In addition to providing a central location for employment and entrepreneurial information, Business Central is also a tool to assist teachers to incorporate real life experiences into the classroom using community guest speakers. Educators will be provided with a toolkit including resources that will complement the curriculum and will also have a Member ID to an interactive website to allow them access to additional teaching aids and programs. As this initiative is multi-faceted, it will provide educators with an opportunity to integrate entrepreneurship into the classroom, provide youth with direct access to entrepreneurship/employment opportunities and provide program information to employers to encourage hiring youth to aid in youth out-migration.

David Orlando
Mentorship Coordinator
As the Mentorship Coordinator, David Orlando is responsible for the recruitment and selection of mentors. Through group meetings organized by the program coordinator, mentees are provided with the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable individuals who have encountered many of the challenges presented.
In addition to the Mentorship Program, our organization has implemented the TBC Development Fund, a program designed to assist new and existing business owners unable to obtain traditional funding. The Business Centre has been fortunate to partner with several marketing firms within the local community who were willing to provide in-kind services to those individuals who qualified for the loan.

Neal Kelly
Youth Coordinator
Bio: I have completed three years of work experience at two of Canada’s leading businesses (Sears Canada Inc. and Magna International Inc.). While working in their Finance departments I was able to advance my computer skills and knowledge of both financial software and principals. Further my experience within these two companies gave me the practical experience of working within a team environment while at the same time being individually responsible and accountable for the accuracy and efficiency of my work.
I have recently completed my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a Major in Marketing at Nipissing University. Over my four years of study I have successfully completed many computer applications courses which advanced my skills in all Microsoft Office programs in addition to my workplace experience.
My current role at The Business Centre has allowed me the opportunity, on numerous occasions, to use and develop my learned marketing skills in a business environment. I have developed, designed, and produced many different marketing pieces using Microsoft Publisher under a minimal budget and ridged timelines. Planning large events again gave me the opportunity to showcase and develop my planning and organizational skills. The Centre also presented me the challenge of coordinating the 2009 Summer Company program; give over 20 students in the area the chance to be their own business owners for the summer. The program allowed 18 students in North Bay and 5 in Parry Sound to make a summer income while develop invaluable entrepreneurial skills all in a low risk environment with funding from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
